FURY
Duration: 134 minutes
Plot: April, 1945. As the Allies make their final push in Europe, a battle-hardened Army sergeant enlists a rookie soldier and commands his three-men crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and out-gunned, the five companions face overwelming odds in theri heroic attempt to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany (written by Sony Pictures Entertainment).
Analysis: another war movie you are going to say. Yes, another one. And in this particular one, almost half of the film takes place inside the narrow interior of an obselete tank! But don't scroll down just yet, because as boring as it may sound, in fact Fury is quite interesting and entertaining. The action scenes –and there are lots of them– are given in an absolutly realistic way. Each explosion and death resembles the way it would happen in an actual war and not in the pages of a comic book. Every single drop of blood makes you feel like being there, alongside the brave soldiers fighting desperately for their lifes. The dynamic direction aids a lot to achieve this result, while Brad Pitt adds another solid and persuasive performance to his resume.
However, battle is not the only thing you are going to experience while watching Fury, since the movie does not hesitate to reveal the ugly and monstrous effect of the war in the psychology of all men, including heroes as well.
Things to notice:
- the great performance of Brad Pitt,
- the realistic direction and
- the well-perceived battle scenes.

Should be watched tonight if: you are looking forward to a movie capable of presenting war in a not so pombous yet completly realistic way. And, of course, if you are not afraid of tanks!
